Commentaire :

Annoté en haut à droite à la sanguine : 'cimier' (?) et en haut à gauche : 'Percier' (?)Etude pour la lunette de Napoléon Ier au plafond du pavillon Denon. La décoration confiée à Muller (1863-1865) devait rendre hommage au mécénat royal et impérial de Saint-Louis, François Ier, Louis XIV et Napoléon Ier.(Davenport, N., Bull. de la sté d'hitoire de l'art français, 1988).
